NBA Comparison

    Offensively, Thompson reminds me of a bigger Ja Morant. Freakishly athletic with effortless bounce and great burst. Both are guys who like to get downhill and attack the rim, Thompson may even be a bit better given his size. Both are gifted passers who have great court awareness and use the dribble drive to create for their team. Both are very flashy players but are very self aware of what they are capable of. Defensively, Thompson reminds me of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Neither are great on the ball and can be too aggressive either fouling or giving up positioning. However, they are extremely impactful because of their off-ball/help defense. Like Giannis, Amen can rotate and recover very quickly and help disrupt a shot at the rim if not sending it into the stands. Thompson is also great turning defense into offense and is best in transition with open space Thompson is a generational talent who will be extremely impactful immediately upon entering the league.
