2022-2023 NBA Awards Predictions By: Shanku Nair | @shanku_nair on Twitter | September 27, 2022 Most Valuable Player: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks The 27 year old going into the 6th year of his prime, and still yet to hit is peak, is my pick to win the MVP award for the 3rd time in his career. The "Greek Freak" won back to back MVPs in the 2019 and 2020 NBA seasons, and finished top 4 and top 3 in MVP voting the last 2 years, respectively. Last season was one of the closest MVP races in NBA history with Jokic, Embiid, and Antetokounmpo all being deserving of the award which was ultimately given to Jokic. Giannis has improved his overall skillset every season since coming into the league, particularly his mid-range jumper which he shot at a 42% clip last season, which is well above league average (~38%). Antetokounmpo is the best player in the world, in my opinion, for many reasons hence being my pick to win MVP. The first reason is his ridiculous scoring efficienc

NBA Season Overview and Projections (Western Conference Edition) By: Shanku Nair | @shanku_nair on Twitter | September 18, 2022 Northwest Division: Denver Nuggets: The Denver Nuggets were led by back-to-back MVP, Nikola Jokic, to the 6 seed in the West last season. He did this without his 2 best supporting players in Jamal Murray, who missed the entire season, and Michael Porter Jr. who only played the first 9 games of the season. The Nuggets ran a very high motion based offense which fit Jokic perfectly and allowed him to not only dominate in the low-post but also use his elite playmaking to find his teammates on the perimeter. This season, I believe the Nuggets could be a serious threat to win the West if fully healthy as they get back one of the best 2-way guards in Jamal Murray as well as one of the most efficient scorers in the game in Michael Porter Jr. Porter Jr. is one of, if not the most underrated scorer in the league today. In the 2020-2021 NBA season, Porter Jr. averaged

NBA Season Overview and Projections (Eastern Conference Edition) By: Shanku Nair | @shanku_nair on Twitter Atlantic Division Boston Celtics: After one of the greatest mid-season turnarounds in NBA history, the Celtics were able to finish 51-31 to get the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference under rookie head coach, Ime Udoka. The Celtics had an incredible playoff run, sweeping the Nets, coming back from down 3-2 against the defending champion Bucks, and beating the Heat in 7. The Celtics were 2 wins away from a championship, but ultimately lost in 6 games to the Warriors. The Celtics were able to retain all their key rotational players while also adding Malcolm Brogdon and Danillo Gallinari to increase their depth tremendously. The Celtics should expect nothing less than another finals appearance this year after bolstering their roster making them one of the deepest teams in the NBA. With a starting lineup of Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, and Rob Williams to go al

Kendric Davis Scouting Report

Vitals Kendric Davis Height: 5’11 Wingspan: 6’0 Weight: 180 lbs.  Age: 23 Position: Point Guard Kendric Davis Scouting Report The first word that comes to mind when I hear the name Kendric Davis is confidence. There is not a single shot on the floor Davis doesn’t like. Davis is a very gifted scorer that can score on all 3 levels and is also a floor general. Davis is a player who can bring immediate offensive impact no matter what role he plays. Davis can shoot off the dribble sizing up bigger defenders and is a great catch and shoot shooter as well. Davis has a very tight handle to go along with his quickness allowing him to get by defenders easily and get downhill. He has a very quick first step which gives him more than enough separation to blow by anyone guarding him. When he gets downhill, Davis is a great ambidextrous finisher around the rim. He has shown great touch with his floater game and ability to finish high off the glass over bigger defenders in his 4 years of college, t

Jeremy Sochan Scouting Report

Vitals Jeremy Sochan Height: 6’9 Wingspan: 7’0 Weight: 230 lbs.  Age: 19 Position: Power Forward Jeremy Sochan Scouting Report Jeremy Sochan is a player that I am higher on than consensus because of his intangibles and his upside. At 19 years old, Sochan still has a lot of room for development to go along with his already skilled and mature playstyle. Sochan is a very high impact basketball player and plays a very smart brand of basketball. What he brings on defense with his defensive versatility is so valuable in today’s NBA. Sochan is one of the few players who can truly guard 1-5 from this class. His incredible lateral movement allows him to keep up with quicker guards on the perimeter, and his big frame combined with his lower body strength allow him to guard bigs. As a defender, Sochan doesn’t have enough bounce yet to be a high-level rim protector but he has great instincts and patience around the rim. Since he is only 19 years old, I expect him to become more athletic and this
